VICTOR FRANÇOIS FÉTIQUE (August 9, 1872, Mirecourt – January 9, 1933, Paris) The son of a luthier, Victor François Fétique learned violin making in Mirecourt, notably under C.N. Bazin. In 1901, he moved to Paris, where he worked for 12 years at Caressa et Français alongside C. Thomassin. In 1913, he founded his own workshop and enjoyed great success. He employed numerous workers and subcontractors such as A. Thomassin, A. Toussaint, Louis Morizot Père, A. Richaume, Emile Ouchard, and Paul Weidhaas. Upon his death, he passed his workshop on to his son Marcel. The bows signed "Fétique," whether made by Victor or his brother Jules, left their mark on Parisian bow making in the first half of the 20th century.
