JOSEPH HENRY (December 10, 1823, Mirecourt – 1870, Paris) Trained in Mirecourt, his hometown, Joseph Henry left his region at a very young age for Paris, where, at the age of fourteen, he began working for Chanot. He then joined Dominique Peccatte until the latter's return to Mirecourt in 1848. Joseph then briefly partnered with Pierre Simon before founding his own workshop in 1851. He probably did subcontract work for Vuillaume and Gand Frères. An exceptionally talented bow maker, Joseph Henry is considered one of the best of his generation.
