MARIE LOUIS PIERNOT (1880, NEUFCHÂTEAU – 1959, PARIS) The son of a postman, Louis Piernot trained with Charles Nicolas Bazin from 1892 to 1900 before joining the workshop of Vigneron Père in Paris. He worked for Léon Bernardel after the latter's death in 1906. Later, he opened his own studio, first in Paris and then in the suburbs 25 miles from the capital in the 1930s, before returning to Paris after World War II.
